A guitar teacher at Rock Bottom Music in Augusta, and a player who gigs on weekends with his band, the Elliot Holden Group, Holden has released his second CD, Radiance. Elliot's playing is at times light and fanciful and at others robust and earthy. Complex, colorful harmonies complement penetrating and acrobatic melodic lines. His sonic mastery on the guitar has landed him opening gigs with the Derek Trucks Band, Col. Bruce Hampton and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. As Mike Varney wrote in the August, 2005 edition of Guitar Player magazine, "Holden is a very melodic soloist with great phrasing and technical prowess. With deep roots in Hendrix and Eric Johnson, he is one of the most promising new guitarists..." Jim Reed at Connect Savannah adds, "Some have compared his style to that of middle-period Eric Clapton, but that too is off the mark. He's much closer in tone and substance to Wired-era Jeff Beck." Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Rock/Fusion), total running time, 29:03 - Elliot Holden @ iTunes!
