Andy Aledort / Groove Kings
"Put A Sock In It"
|
Andy Aledort and the Groove Kings have released "Put A Sock In It", a 60+ minute collection of original blues/rock material, also featuring Freddie King's "The Stumble" and "Someday After A While," and Albert King's "Wrapped Up In Love Again." Instrumental fans will dig the two high-powered tracks "King's Groove" and "The Stumble" as well as the jazz-tinged closer, "For My Father". SRV/Double Trouble bassist Tommy Shannon says, "The guitar playing is great. I can hear the influences of Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Winter, but Andy definitely has a sound that is his own." Guitar World's Alan Paul remarks, "Andy kicks ass. Listening to him makes me alternately want to run to my guitar or give it up. It also makes me proud to work with him, because he is better than almost anyone we cover in the magazine. You have to hear it to believe it." If you are into electric blues ala Pat Travers, Kevin Russell, and Nobby Reed, you need to check out "Put A Sock In It".
