fter reading this Chicago native's incredible story of recovering from 2 crushed fingers on the left fretting hand, you'd never tell by listening to these 2 CD's; it's very mind-blowing that this actually happened 8 years ago. "Personalities" is an 11-track jam-packed release and there's nothing "old-sounding" about these tunes! Somewhat reminiscent of recent reviews I did on Mark Schuster and Tommy Merry to add to T.D.'s flamenco style with other flavors of Latin, Salsa, Blues and Hard Rock added. Songs like "Metallic Hoe Down" and "El Rio de Tiempo" are fine examples and the change of pace with "Cincinnati", somewhat in the Vai "Passion & Warfare" realm. "Haunting" is just that, an exceptionally slow and eerie instrumental that's perfectly titled and the closer, "The Duel" with T.D. and his friend Ryan Nash exchanging blows of fretting firepower--almost like a Cacophony reunion of sorts.
