Coffeehouse Blues
Blues in a coffeehouse. Go figure.

Pike
When we were first working on this tune, we all started sharing great tales about Northern Pike. The name just stuck. If you don`t have any good stories about catching, or having close encounters with this fine fish, then all I can tell you is that you really need to get out and do more fishin`!

Soaring
When I wrote this I was visualizing an eagle soaring high up in the mountains, and trying to get that vibe. So close your eyes and try to imagine that. If that doesn`t work, take your walkman out and do some hang gliding.

Platform Shoes
Just picture a close up of a big old gold platform shoe with a heel about the size of the World Trade Center just tapping and keeping a beat with the groove. (Black lights and lava lamps are optional.) The B-ball excerpts in the middle are from a 3 on 3 tournament my wife and I got our rears kicked in.

Lakota
Inspired by different stages in the history of the Native American Indian. We recorded this tune using several drums, but I wanted a buffalo hide drum. With no buffalo in sight, we had to settle for my 125 pound dog Zack! We miked him up and patted his belly - he loved it! So you are the first to hear the one and only "Living Dog Drum" (Patent Pending). But now he wants points on the record and a new food bowl!!!

Legend
This song was going to be called "The Rest Of The Time", since for the most part the rest of the album is in 4/4 time, and this one encompasses all the other time signatures! Must be a drummer thing.

Return Of The Wolf
It is hard to believe there were once wolves throughout our entire country. Between 1937 and 1969, U.S. federal agents killed well over 51,000 wolves to "Rid our land of these predators". The ignorance of the people who want to exterminate this awesome animal is staggering. Fortunately the tide of thinking in America has turned somewhat, and with much hard work, several wolf packs have been re-established in Yellowstone park. Hopefully we can continue to use the lessons from the past to move ourselves forward, so that we may better learn to live in a spirit of harmony with the world around us.

Uncle Glen Shuffle
My great uncle Glen always had a joke to tell whenever he saw you. Granted it was usually the same joke he told you the day before, but for some reason it was still just as funny. After he reached 90 years old, he didn`t really take steps when he walked, he just kind of shuffled his feet. We referred to that as "Doin` the Uncle Glen Shuffle." This song really doesn`t have anything to do with him except it`s kind of a shuffle...and...well there you have it! (This is actually a version of this song we did as a demo. I thought it turned out with a cool vibe, so instead of re-recording it, we just used the demo.)

Space Madness
My favorite space travelers: Cap`n Hoek and Cadet Stimpy.

Rock Of Ages
Here is another tune to turn out the lights and listen to. No pseudo psychic guru nonsense here, just a time to kick back and relax your brain! I just think of the words to this song and they tend to help me get through whatever junk I`m dealing with. "Rock of ages (that`s God) Cleft for me, (open up for me) Let me Hide myself in Thee." - That`s a pretty cool plan.
