Ryan Formato Review of "Out Of This World" @ iTunes By: Wayne Klinger ard to believe this kid is 19 years old! A "Jack of all trades" with production, recording, mixing and mastering of this album worth 12 tracks of your time. Ryan is seriously focused with Classical and Neo-Classical styles withmixture of radio-friendly Progressive Rock. His influences ange from Malmsteen to Vai to Michael Batio and Francesco Fareri without turning into a Rob Johnson. I say that because despite RJ is good, he noodles way too much on his albums and with Magnitude 9. I don't rate a player by how many notes he can squeeze in one measure. I rather hear textures and harmonies with perplexed timings. Ryan shows that on this album with interesting compositions and terrific fretwork. The best things I like about this guitarist is his attitude. He's cocky, devoted and confident and still knows the fact he needs and wants to work harder to work towards his "Vai" goal.
