cd CD Information

With The Flow
Did you ever wonder if everything happens for a reason or if life is a series of random events? I`ve always thought it might be a combination of both. We are in control of nothing. I came up with the main riff to this song while watching a Philadephia Eagles game.

Losing Faith
I wrote this when I was in one of my dark, cynical moods. Sometimes all you have to do is turn on the news and see the violence, greed, war, racism, hatred, injustice, dishonesty, corruption, and all the other negative things that are going on in this world, and it can make you lose your faith in humanity. Sometimes I wonder if man is on a collision course to destroy himself. The little five-note part at 3:01 reminds me of angels singing.

Echoes
I called this one "Echoes" because of the `echoing notes` sections at the middle and end of the song. And also because it puts me in a frame of mind where I start thinking of things from the past, and how time seems to fly by so quickly. I could go on about this for days...

Thunderball
I have no idea what this song is about, but it really gets me motivated when I hear it!

From Now On
I wrote this song for my wife with the intention of using it at our wedding, but then I chickened out and went with the more traditional wedding music.

Time Traveler
When I look at some of the amazing individuals who have changed the course of our history, such as Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King, Jimi Hendrix, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, etc., I cannot help but wonder if they are simply random freaks of nature or whether there are messengers purposely sent to lead mankind in a positive direction. Pretty spacey concept, but I can`t help myself from wondering.

VinMan`s Brew
I`ve thought of making my own beer a few times but have never gotten around to it. My friends keep telling me that I should. Sometime soon, I am going to make some "VinMan`s Brew," and use great ingredients like two row barley and Tettnang hops so it has some kick and some twang just like this song!

She`s Only Sleeping
I wrote this song for my grandmother, Madeline Marcozzi, who passed away in 1992. Her memory will always be with me. I never thanked her for paying for my guitar lessons when I was a kid, or for the many other things she did for me. I hope she knows how much it meant to me. She gave her whole life to her family and expected nothing in return. This was a spontanteous song that I recorded at my home studio. It was so special to me that when we went into Kajem Studios to do this record, I had major anxiety about redoing it because I was afraid that I wouldn`t be able to recapture the emotion. Paul Hammingson convinced me (very easily) that there was no reason that we had to re-record it. So we put it on the record as is. Man, I`m glad. Thanks, Paul!

Am I Only Dreaming?
...If I am, then don`t wake me. This is a really dreamy, rainy day, spacey song. Reminds me of watching the rain and listening to it hit the roof and side of the house. I had finished writing this song and then Brian came up with the chords in the middle and end. Check out the weird E-Bow part that I put over top of it.

770 Days
Okay, okay, I know it sounds like "Meltdown", but I couldn`t help plagiarizing myself!

Move That Thang!
This version is slightly different than what I really had in mind. While we were in the studio, we listened to a lot of James Brown and Soul Brother No. 1, sort of inspired taking it in a slightly different direction. I really don`t think that James would like it a whole lot though!

Winter Sun
A couple of years ago at the end of March, it snowed two feet! This is me in my studio looking out the window at an incredibly bright sun reflecting off the totally white ground. This song was also recorded at VinMan Studios.
