his album truly is out from nowhere. It took quite a while to come out. If there was any question about Vinnie's feel, it was answered with this album. It sounds like a great guitarist havin' fun, jammin' out to real cool songs. Vinnie said that he would like to make his own brew and use great ingredients like two row barley and tettnang hops so it has some kick and some twang just like the song. That's some great visualization. He created a beer through music. He demonstrated taste through sound. That's cool!
He also wrote "She's Only Sleeping" in memory of his grandmother and "From Now On" to his wife. As nice as that is, those songs are pretty slow acoustic numbers. It seems with each great, rocky, funky and technically demanding song there is, it is followed by a slower, more sublime tune. All the songs are good, full of deep feeling and thought, however, I tend to stick with the fast upbeat, funky songs like "With The Flow, Thunderball, VinMan's Brew" and "Move That Thang".
This album has a lot of funky syncopated riffin', fast alternate picked pentatonics, bluesy bending, chromatics and some reserved sweep arppegios just to keep you on your toes. A great effort in instrumental music for the nineties.
