The Twin Lines Project album One From The Studio, One From The Stage became a reality when world famous marimba wizard Dave Samuels (Spyro Gyra) hooked up with the excellent Hungarian bassist Pal Vasveri with a recording project in mind. Then they recruited sax player Julius Chepreghy and a number of American jazz talents - guitar virtuoso Mike Stern (Miles Davis), Alex Acuna (Weather Report) and Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets). The two-CD set includes a live CD recorded on the group's 1998 tour and an eight song studio CD recorded at the end of the same tour. Note to guitar fans - Stern only appears on the studio CD, contributing guitar solos to "Spring High", "Turnaround" and "Cheese And Wine", not on the remainder of the studio disc, nor on the live recording (Chepreghy's sax lines and Ferrante's keyboard work providing the lion's share of the solo and lead work).
