Stuttgart-born German guitarist Robert Walker started playing guitar at the age of 15, influenced by Rory Gallagher, Ritchie Blackmore and modern players such as Joe Satriani, Andy Timmons and Steve Vai. Playing in numerous rock cover bands did not satisfy Walker, and he decided to make his own way in instrumental music and as a songwriter. One For The Road is his debut CD featuring his rock and hard rock guitar instrumentals (along with a cover, "Ghostriders"). His goal is to write guitar instrumentals which not only appeal to guitarists, but to general music fans as well. In Walker's opinion, a guitar instrumental CD has to be more than a technique showcase - it has to have songs, even without vocals - the guitar has to be the vocalist. Walker combines sound, expression, and melody - and it never gets boring. All the arrangements on One For The Road are Walker's, and the original tunes were written in 2004 and 2005.
