Old Lions (In The World Of Snarling Sheep), from the New York area band Anibus Spire (led by gutiarist Bill MacKechnie), features music ranging from prog metal to jazz, through to psychedelia and more traditional prog with Arabian/Indian Eastern influences. The CD, while willfully low-fi in its approach, mixes blistering instrumentals, vocal tunes about the heartlessness of small towns, and even a tune about flying saucers. The group's music has drawn comparisons to Spastic Ink and Roger Waters solo material, but as the band states, "We're not for everyone...but, if you're one of us, you'll know."
