Diego Garcia is a talented axe man from Spain, who combines a little Danny Gatton, Scott Henderson, Michael Lee Firkins, Johnny A and Pat Metheny and comes up with Octopus, his debut solo CD. An instrumental affair, with occasional sound bytes for dramatic effect, the music on the album displays Garcia's North American music influences (jazz, blues, country), and also showcases a technically proficient player who shuns overloaded virtuosity in favor of interesting compositions.
