Negative Reciprocality is the second release from Utah's Black Lightning, a group consisting of guitarist/bassist Ethan Skinner and drummer Jeffrey Price. This time the band is joined by lead guitarist Barry Brooksby, who contributes six solos, ranging stylistically from blues to metal-influenced rock. The CD contains thirteen instrumentals in all, built from the ground up starting with Skinner's rhythm guitar work and Price pounding on the pads of a Boss DR-660 drum machine. Hard rock dominates the sonic landscape on "Magnetic Induction", "Party @ Five", and "The Way It Was", while acoustic flavors abound on "Woods Walker". The uplifting "Path Of Independence" is the highlight of Negative Reciprocality, underscoring the independent streak running through Skinner and Brooksby and their musical projects. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Hard Rock), total running time, 49:49
