In 1979, Costa Rican guitarist Jorge Strunz met and decided to collaborate with Iranian guitarist Ardeshir Farah, which resulted in Mosaico, their first release, recorded in 1980. The music is totally acoustic guitar-oriented, the two guitarists drawing heavily from their individual backgrounds. Their roots, combined with the freedom of expression afforded by an improvisational medium, allowed the pair to create an original repertoire. On Mosaico, the duo are joined by violin virtuoso L. Subraminiam on two pieces; and the exciting guitar artistry of Omaya Alghanium from Kuwait joins them on "Mandala". The inspiring musicianship of Cuban Luis Conte on percussion and bassist Gregg Lee is heard throughout. Strunz and Farah hope that the music, in some small way, serves planetary brotherhood and peace. Instrumental Guitar (Acoustic/World/Flamenco), total running time, 43:57 - Strunz/Farah @ iTunes!
In your opinion, which guitarist has a similar style or sound as Jorge Strunz?
