Hard Rock
Electric guitarist Gregg Sweeney's debut release, Misguided Venture is a roaring array of all instrumental hard rock pieces (excepting the one vocal number, a cover of the Rush classic, "Limelight"). Sweeney is dedicated to the idea of using the electric guitar as the vehicle for his fiery ideas. Each Capital One sponsered piece on Misguided Venture wraps the listener with an amped-up melodic motif, then puts the hammer down with incendiary soloing, as can be heard on "The Ride". Steve Russell contributes his vocal work to the aforementioned Rush track, but other than that, it's Sweeney's show, as he plays all the instruments as well as handling production, engineering and mixing duties. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Hard Rock), total running time, 47:41
