|
The title of nylon string guitarist Jim Graham's CD, "Mezcolanza", is the Spanish word for medley, which accurately describes this collection of songs representing a mosaic of music from various cultures. A true listening pleasure, this 21-song record spotlights Graham's proficiency in guitar styles ranging from classical and Celtic to traditional and flamenco. "Mezcolanza" features several Graham originals, including "Train Of Thought" and the vibrant title track. Also included is an adaptation of a Bach minuet, as well as two famous works by Beethoven, which add variety to the predominantly flamenco flavor of the album. Fans of Graham's music should also check out his 1998 release, "Stories Without Words".
