Review of "Mechanica Diablo"
|
By: Wayne Klinger
t's been 12 years that I've known abut this guy ever since the first time I seen the small ad in "Metal Maniacs" for his free cassette single. Since then he has released the well-received, "Dreamscapes" and has started Guitar 2001 Magazine and a website for it (which has been confirmed to stay up and will have a new format as of 2003).
I actually agree with some of the critics on this release actually visualizing what Michael is playing on here. This 13-track release is what michael describes as his "vision of hell put to music". My best scenario for the whole thing would be taking Chastain's "Within The Heat" or Elegant Seduction" and adding Michael Chlasciak's morbid mind. As a bonus treat on this CD is the track "Pandemonium In The Mausoleum", which is an all-star filled track with guests Jack Starr, Rob Balducci, Carl Roa and Steve Booke. The CD is a very haunting and effective concept which is rarely heard of from an instrumental standpoint; worth your curiosity.
