Featuring two local area guitarists, Greg Meckes (on "The New One", "Out Of Sight In My Mind" and "She Said Yes") and Vincent Mastrantonio (on "Large Cheese And Pepperoni Pizza With Hot Peppers", "The Unhappy Waitress" and "Fredd's Shuffle"), New York drummer Todd Mazurek's CD release, "Mazurek's Maze", combines fusion and rock sounds to deliver a musician-friendly, instrumental treat. Meckes, who also co-produced the CD with Fred Betchlin, lays out a lot of the jazzier fusion lines, while Mastrantonio seems to favor a heavier rock approach on his tracks. Fans of Meckes two solo CDs, "Mission" and "Square One", will find a lot to like here.
