Review of "The Maze"

innie Moore's fifth release, "The Maze", marks a return to Shrapnel Records and to the neoclassical style that he helped begin. The opening title track and the second song, "King of Kings" could fit right in with songs off the first two CDs. With the third track, "Cryptic Dreams," he diversifies back into a moving melody over a texture of electric and acoustic rhythm parts. This reflects the layout of the rest of the CD with mostly neoclassical interspersed with the hard rock more like "Out of Nowhere". If you were a fan of Vinnie's early work but didn't appreciate his hard rock style you'll really enjoy this one.
