Review of "Maximum Security"
|
By: Stefan Kerzel
ghost is currently haunting a lot of guitarists, and its name is Tony MacAlpine. He has released yet another distictive album in his own distinctive way, and has given the goahead for stright guitarists to find new ideas. On "Maximum Security", MacAlpine has enlisted the aid of Night Ranger's Jeff Watson and George Lynch, from Dokken. Through some superb production, MacAlpine has managed to make all the guitar parts soud as if they were played by one musician. The ultimate in guitar tracks has to be "Tears Of Sahara", which really does send shivers down your spine. If you haven't had your morning kick of caffeine, give a listen to "The Time And The Test", which kicks in enough adrenalin to wake up even the dead. MacAlpine shows where his musical roots lie by including some beautiful Chopin. Now the big question is when will we get to see Tony MacAlpine over in this neck of the woods. A truly wonderful album and worth the full marks.
