Fusion/Progressive
Live Wires is the new concert CD by electric violinist Joe Deninzon and his group Stratospheerius. This CD was recorded live on the road during the past two years, and features scorching guitar work by
Alex Skolnick and Jake Ezra, Israeli bass assaults by Ron Baron, thunderous drums by the Queen of the beats herself, Luciana Padmore, and Deninzon on electric and acoustic violin, and vocals. Live Wires is Stratospheerius raw, live, and in your face! Highlights of the CD include their funky version of the Simpson's Theme, a Frank Zappa classic called "Magic Fingers", as well as a new tune Deninzon co-wrote with Skolnick celebrating their heavy metal and Jewish roots, entitled "Heavy Shtettle". To date, the New York-based group has been heavily involved in the jam band scene, sharing bills with groups like The Slip, Ekoostik Hookah, and John Scofield. Their live performances are filled with funky dance grooves, rip-roaring guitar/violin jams, and hooks that melt the paint off of walls; while jazz, funk, hip hop, and world music are mixed to create a "stratospheric" musical experience.
Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Fusion/Progressive), total running time, 71:36 - Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius @ iTunes!
