letter was excited to get this CD knowing the power of Donati on drums, MacAlpine on guitar and Derek Sherinian on the keys with special guest bassist, Dave Larue. It's also good to see how quickly Derek picked the pieces up after the walking papers Dream Theater gave him to get Jordan Rudess. Jordan may have quite a few years on Derek, but I don't see anything really different musically myself despte LaBrie's comments in the interview I did.

Planet X in my opinion are in the same caliber musically as Liquid Tension Experiment, Transatlantic and Vitalij Kuprij (minus the Neo-Classical) and this live album, which was recorded only a short matter over a year ago at the Cornel Hotel in Richmond, Victoria, Australia proves that point and the live stuff actually makes the studio stuff weak. The main trio all get solo time on this and you'll hear goodies like "Atlantis", "Ignotus Per Ignotium", "Warfinger" and "Her Animal". Anyone into serious fusion and keyboard enriched music that has a serious listening side to them, will enjoy this live performance. Dock your ears to Planet X and use your brain to enjoy the ambience of fusion.
