French guitarist Julien Carayon's world is instrumental music, a world with no borders, as he plays with no specific music style in mind. The end result is Lethal Alchemy, which straddles the heavy metal, progressive rock and shred musical camps, as evidenced by his influences of Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Planet , Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Pat Metheny and Jimi Hendrix. Carayon explores every tune for all it's worth; the shortest tune is almost seven minutes in length ("Heat"), while "The Good And Evil Sides Of Men" clocks in at over ten minutes. Carayon has spent countless hours listening to his favorite musicians, and on Lethal Alchemy, he's tried to cultivate his own style, composing "non-80's-style-shred music" and avoiding cliches.
