Al DiMeola

"Land Of The Midnight Sun"

The Story
"Land Of The Midnight Sun", Al DiMeola's first solo record after Return To Forever, features his super-fast picking on six instrumental fusion compositions. Recorded when he was just 22 years old, the CD showcases DiMeola's incredible musical range, his equally strong ability on electric or acoustic guitar, and his compositional strengths -- complex, winding pieces which set this guitarist apart from his contemporaries. "Land Of The Midnight Sun" also has some powerhouse guest musicians, such as Return To Forever bandmates Stanley Clarke and Chick Corea, as well as Jaco Pastorius, Anthony Jackson and Steve Gadd. Awesome debut, and a great kick-off to a long recording career.
