Review of "Joy 4 Ever"
|
By: Wayne Klinger
riginally from Surnam, South America and relocating to Holland, Anand picked up the guitar at age 12 and messed around for several years and took some lessons from Pau Menzing before the "light" hit him seeing "Satch" in concert for the first time. This was the event that made Anand decide on doing his instrumental works.
"Joy 4 Ever" is Anand's second release since the 2000 release of "A Man's Mind" (Lion Music will be rereleasing this sometime in 2004 by the way) and is an 11-track excursion of progressive fusion in the Vai/Satch realm with some clever songwriting. Guests on the CD include drum god, Mike Terrana (Malmsteen/Rage) and a track appearance by the keyboard wizard Derek Sherinian. Anand's talents should make a huge splash in the guitar world and I'm sure you'll be hearing quite a bit from him in the media over the next several years.
