uze's new album is here (great last name, by the way!). On this outing, Fuze takes on an eclectic mix of standards such as Metheny's "Bright Size Life", Corea's "La Fiesta ", Chopin's "Prelude Opus 28 no.4" Hendrix' "Third Stone from the Sun" and Ellington's "Star Crossed Lovers" in the company of three different, but equally gifted groups, including master drummers Zach Danziger, Gene Lake and Billy Hart. The music mixes up powerful Drum'n Bass grooves with some incendiary fusion soloing from Fuze and fine group interplay. "Bright Size Life" is an excellent example of the twisted approach that Fuze brings to the table with an oblique approach to the Metheny classic as he storms it with his trademark legato madness.
