On the choice of instrumental vs. vocals, Ranoa states, "With lyrics, the destination has been provided to a certain degree. With instrumentals, the destination is a bit more open to question. Sometimes, it's nice to let the listener wander unaided by dictionary-defined definitions. What took shape in my imagination were pop rock-instrumentals: simpler than what the guitar-instrumental genre is known for, a little more melodic (I hope anyway) and, well, a lot easier to play (ahem).
