Fusion
Guitarist Mark Stanley's 2002 CD release is entitled Insect Warriors and features Dennis Chambers (drums), Mark Egan (bass), Sean Rickman (drums), Mark Smoot (bass), Kyle Coughlin (sax), Andy Milne (synth) and others. It is described as a futuristic, sci-fi, old school fusion record, with the theme being the destruction of insects who have grown to mammoth size due to an unintended reaction to pestacides and other chemicals designed to kill them. Insect Warriors features seven instrumental tracks (with long improvisational jams) and five vocal numbers (warning: some explicit lyrics), which continue in the sometimes humorous, sometimes cartoon-like style of Mike Keneally, and, to a lessor extent, Frank Zappa. Fans of Stanley's earlier work will jump on this latest release
Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Fusion), total running time, 52:15
