evin M. Buck is out of the Chicago area and is only about 26 years old, has been on the circuit already with Euphoric Darkness and still going as of 1996 is his Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne cover band, Blizzard Of Ozz. So it's easy to say he's into Zakk, Jake, Randy and Tony. I hear other influences surfacing around, Malmsteen and Jason Becker as well, which ironically are two more of his favorite guitarists. Heck, even Roger Daltrey and Leslie West said some magnificent things about this guy's axe-wielding; the proof is definately on this CD.
"Initiation" is Kevin's debut on his own label and has 14 tunes that cover a span of a decade, just sitting around and collecting dust. It mentions they have haunted him for years despite these are all his ideas just spewed out in any old fashon but he has taken these ideas and made incredible songs out of them. The result is Prog Metal to Blues to Neo-Classical to even some Reggae. Just alot of emphasis was put into this album and Kevin's guitar playing no matter how subtle or angst-ridden he can get, the point comes across clearly. Sadly, I already posted my "Best Releases Of 2003 Poll", Kevin M. Buck would of made the top 5 easily, so keep that in mind!
