Gabe Cummins started his musical career at the age of 13, playing his guitar in blues bands around the Upstate New York area. At 15, he headlined at the New York State Blues Festival with the New York Blues All Star Big Band to a captivated audience at the legendary Dinosaur Blues Club. While still a junior in high school, his stylistic interests quickly turned to jazz after purchasing his first, of soon to be many, Wes Montgomery records. His interest in jazz led Gabe to attend to the prestigious Berklee College of Music
in Boston, where upon entering he received Berklee's Best Scholarship. Gabe quickly established himself among the elite guitar players in the guitar program. His hard work led to the receipt Berklee's Achievement Scholarship for Guitar Performance. Gabe is currently an adjunct Professor of guitar at New York University, where he is in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Performance and Composition. His new fusion, jazz and funk CD is entitled If You Were You, and features seven instrumentals backed by sax, keyboards, bass and drums.
