The purpose of the Guitar Nine Records' Home Studio Registry is to allow owners and users of home/project studios to communicate with other musicians who are doing similar projects and work.

Far from being the solitary musician locked in a spare room with a bunch of expensive toys, you will finally be able to hook up with others who have many of the same dreams and aspirations as you do.

J. Russ Willoughby's Studio Details

I have learned the Boss BR8 inside and out and have found it to work perfect for me.

Main purpose: Recording
Secondary purpose: Composition

Recording knowledge level: Above average
MIDI knowledge level: Just learning

Typically work (with): Alone

Future plans: I have just finished my first cd of heavy guitar instrumentals, "Beyond the Velvet Rope" and hope to have it available on Guitar Nine very, very soon. I am about half finished working on my next project titled "Pickup Lines" which should be out by the end of the summer.

Guitars: `81 Gibson Flying V, Hamer double cutaway archtop, Squier double fat Strat, Alvarez cutaway acoustic
Keyboards: Yamaha and Alesis
Percussion: Zoom RT-123

Effects: Line 6 POD and the built in effects in my Boss BR8, a killer combo for guitarists! Some of the COSM effects in the BR8 are a bit silly but, for what I do, I don`t use a lot of them. Besides, the sound I get out of the POD cover all the bases.
Microphones: Mic simulators within the POD and BR8
Mixer: Again, the BR8
Tape decks: The BR8 records to 100mb Zip disks. Each disk has about 49 minutes of total track time.
Hard disc recorders: I had a Roland vs880 and took it back and bought the Boss BR8.

Comments: I have learned the Boss BR8 inside and out and have found it to work perfect for me. The Zoom RT-123 has incredibly realistic drum and bass sounds and since it only takes up two tracks (in stereo), it's a space saver as well.
