The purpose of the Guitar Nine Records' Home Studio Registry is to allow owners and users of home/project studios to communicate with other musicians who are doing similar projects and work.
Far from being the solitary musician locked in a spare room with a bunch of expensive toys, you will finally be able to hook up with others who have many of the same dreams and aspirations as you do.

Main purpose: Jamming/Fun
Secondary purpose: Composition
Recording knowledge level: Above average
MIDI knowledge level: Average
Typically work (with): Other musicians
Completed songs/demos/jingles: 5-20
Future plans: Better acoustic treatment for my once spare bedroom. Would like to make some money doing this but, who cares? I`m having a good time either way.
Guitars: Ibanez, Fender Strat and ESP electrics. Ovation and Martin acoustics.
Keyboards: Korg M-1 (What a wonderful old thing).
Effects: Boss VF-1, Quadraverb
Microphones: Sure SM-57, SM-58, Generic PZM, Soon, if I can afford it, a good condensor mic.
Mixer: Virtual.
Tape decks: Fostex 8-track open reel and matching 2-track (Getting dusty).
Monitoring system: Cheesy Sampson 70W per channel amp, Tannoy PBM 6.5 II near field monitors.
Computers: 1.1 Ghz AMD athalon processor, 512Mb RAM, 10 Gig IDE drive for software and programs, 30 Gig IDE drive for recording space, Plextor CD-RW (for mastering). Guilmot Isis Studio sound card.
Music software: Cakewalk Guitar Studio 2, Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, Cubase VST24, N-Track Studio.
Other equipment: The usual patch bays, Behringer Composer Compressor/Limiter.
Comments: Sound cards, sound cards, sound cards. The Guilmot is a good card ($300), and because I`m mastering to CD within the computer, I don`t need a lot of in/outs. There are better ones out there for sure, but not in the same price range. I haven`t quite decided on the best software to use, however in the long run it`s all about what you feel most comfortable with. One final note: This studio was cheap for the quality of sound I can get. The total for the above equipment was only about $3000 (Not including the instruments).
