The purpose of the Guitar Nine Records' Home Studio Registry is to allow owners and users of home/project studios to communicate with other musicians who are doing similar projects and work.
Far from being the solitary musician locked in a spare room with a bunch of expensive toys, you will finally be able to hook up with others who have many of the same dreams and aspirations as you do.

Web site: www.geocities.com/lowerunnerband
Main purpose: Demos
Secondary purpose: Commercial work
Recording knowledge level: Above average
MIDI knowledge level: Average
Typically work (with): Other musicians
Completed songs/demos/jingles: 5-20
Future plans: Continue Recording. I`m playing in an acoustic swing band & we strive to have an original sound. We`ve recorded quite a bit, but still haven`t put together the complete package yet.
Guitars: I have 3 guitars that I mainly play. I use a Martin D18GE for all my acoustic work. This is the sweetest dread I`ve ever owned. It`s very balanced and with its red sprue top has more headroom than other Martins I`ve owned. For chunka jazz, I play a Gibson ES175CC (Charlie Christian model). This CC pickup is very powerful and sounds smooth as silk when you crank it up, but I generally use this guitar for rhythm. For other electric projects, I use a souped up Fender telecaster. It was built by Joe Barden & has 3 Joe Barden pickups. It`s very versatile. The Gibson uses a single coil pickup and is prone to hum unless it I take the time to set it up. The humbucker Bardens on the tele have a marvelous tone and they`re very quiet.
Keyboards: I have a Casio midi keyboard but I rarely use it. I`m a guitar player.
Percussion: I`ve collected percussion instruments for 35 years. I have bones that rattle, congas, different size tambourines, washboards, tambourines, shakers... you get the idea.
Effects: Digitech RP1. I also use this as a pre-amp to get my guitars into my computer through its soundcard.
Microphones: I`ve changed jobs & lost access to the Neuman and Electrovoice RE20s. I use Shure RM 58s in my home studio.
Mixer: Pacific or Graham Patten. Our bass player has purchased a Carvin. That`s mostly what we use these days.
Tape decks: Sony 4 tracks. Rarely used. I master onto cds as most folks do these days.
Monitoring system: Crown power amp, JBL monitors, Sony professional headsets.
Computers: Gateway Pentium 3. I use a 52X cd burner.
Music software: Pro-Tools at work, Cakewalk and PowerTracks at home.
Other equipment: I use a Fender Twin Reverb when I need a big amp or a Gibson Kalamazoo when a small amp will do. Both are tube amps, but the Gibson is lower wattage with softer overdrive. I like it a lot - it has only an on-off switch & a volume pot, no other processing. I`ve recently had it recapped & tubed.
Comments: I`m not recording as much as I`d like. I`m a video editor by trade & use our audio studio when opportunity knocks. At home I don`t like to use open mikes because there`re too many extraneous interruptions - monsters (I mean kids), flourescent lights, refrigerators.....
