The purpose of the Guitar Nine Records' Home Studio Registry is to allow owners and users of home/project studios to communicate with other musicians who are doing similar projects and work.

Far from being the solitary musician locked in a spare room with a bunch of expensive toys, you will finally be able to hook up with others who have many of the same dreams and aspirations as you do.

Dave Zobel's Studio Details

I'm an aging 60's rocker who never made it big, gave up on the dream, but has been able to return to rockin' for the fun of it.

Web site: www.geocities.com/Area51/Station/4897

Main purpose: Jamming/Fun
Secondary purpose: Composition

Recording knowledge level: Average
MIDI knowledge level: Average

Typically work (with): Alone
Completed songs/demos/jingles: 5-20

Future plans: I want to experiment more with guitar-MIDI conversion. I`ve purchased the Axon 100, but haven`t yet had time to sequence anything new. I`m also interested in making the switch from tape to digital and am saving for a newer computer and one of the new dsp soundcards (like the emu)

Guitars: Charvel Dinky, Fernandez Function, Roland-Ready Standard Strat
Keyboards: Roland D-50, Ensonic E-Prime
Sound modules: Sound Blaster AWE64 Value with 8mb patchset (great GM/GS sounds!) Axon-100 SB with onboard Yamaha DB50 Soundcard for full XG soundset
Percussion: Onboard GM/GS & XG sets in my sound modules

Effects: Zoom 2020, Zoom 505, Roland VG-8
Tape decks: Your basic 1995 technology, 4 track, high speed cassette
Monitoring system: Altec Lansing computer ACS-90 Speakers, an old Yamaha tuner/amp, and a pair of old Yamaha 2-way speakers. An assortment of old Koss & Sony headphones.

Computers: Cybermax Cyrix P200+ 3.2 Gb, 32Mb EDU RAM
Music software: PG Music Band-in-a-Box (early version without the improvements), Voyetra Digital Orchestrator Pro
Other equipment: An old, 3 speaker, Polytone guitar amp. It positively kicks ass with the VG8. It has a 15" and two 8" speakers. I`m not sure of the watts, but it makes my pants cuffs flutter.

Comments: I'm an aging 60's rocker who never made it big, gave up on the dream, but has been able to return to rockin' for the fun of it. I don't sweep or scale, or arpeggiate, but I jam my ass off. Contact with others welcome.
