Carl Filipiak Review of "Hotel Real" @ iTunes By: David Dorkin altimore's fusion guitarist Carl Filipiak has a strong release in Hotel Real. From the opening track and its Latin/fusion update of Autumn Leaves to Cause We've Ended as Lovers and the funky Mayberry, Filipiak does a good job of mixing it up throughout the disc. The supporting cast is excellent and includes Dennis Chambers, Bob Berg, Gary Granger, Victor Williams, Wil Calhoun and Gary Thomas. Filipiak plays it clean a la Stern and also turns it up for a Paul Reed Smith distorted tone reminiscent of Santana's finest.
