From the No Brains Zine review, "Heavy Surf is the first release on new cool surf label Reptile Records - a compilation CD with 25 tracks featuring more and less known bands. Mark Brodie opens this CD with a classical surf tune with weird intro. Next are The Heatscores. Their track is supercool acid psych surf - a weird combination which I like a lot. Cadillac Angels are more instrumental R'n'R - cool, raw and dusty guitar sound - great band. 3 Balls Of Fire and "Rumble In The Congo" remind me a bit of The Mutants from Finland - really mind-blowing tune, groovy as hell with cool psych surf guitar through wah wah and other weird effects. Daikaiju are one of the weirdest instro surf bands I ever heard. Sounds like progressive surf psych. I never heard anything like this before, but it works. Los Plantronics play "Satan Stole My Surfboard", satanic surf - weird and a bit too complex. After all, Heavy Surf is actually the best name for this CD.
