Allan Holdsworth

"Hard Hat Area"

The Story
"Hard Hat Area" was the 1994 studio album that brought guitarist Allan Holdsworth, keyboardist Steve Hunt, bassist Skuli Sverrisson, and drummer Gary Husband together on a fusion tour-de-force, displaying a good amount of improvistional soloing over Holdsworth's modern, guitar-centric compositions. The back cover of "Hard Hat Area" even lists each member's solo sections for each tune - nice touch. Check out "Ruhkukah", "House Of Mirrors" and the title track for some truly Holdsworthian signature sound shock.
