ith touches of Hendrix and a taste of Beatles melody combined with fluid expression and a lot of soul Bob Ernst release "Hands On" is pleasant journey. Combining layers of acoustic and electric guitars within each song, Bob strikes a balance that is pleasant to ones ears. The four song EP demonstrates Bob's mastery of the guitar and his ability to make the guitar sing. The songs that Bob has created have strong roots in the blues, the rhythm guitars employ a nice groove under the well crafted lead guitar lines.
Track by Track:
1. Hands On - has the flavor of a Joe Satriani tune - catchy lead guitar, nice groove
2. Beggar's Delight - main lead guitar reminds of a Beatles melody - nice bluesy acoustic - fluid solo w/ a touch a speed
3. Desert Flower - acoustic ballad type song - nice blues guitar solo
4. Tex-Mess - blues guitar rhythm w/ Stevie Ray Vaughn/Hendrix solo style
Montage of blues riffs, melodic guitar lines with a touch of speed. I would love to hear a complete 10 to 12 song CD. "Hands-On" is breath of fresh air in the musical clutter blaring across the airwaves. Fans of classic rock and blues would enjoy this CD as well fans of instrumental rock.
