Review of "Guitar Work - Part 1"

pix
By: Mario Van Dooren

letter tephane Pilette, a self taught guitar player, has been playing guitar since more or less 14 years. He has played in several bands, which played different styles of music. But Stephane decided to turn back to his early years playing instrumental songs. His first album "Guitar Work - Part I" is a very good instrumental rock/metal album. Stephane played all the instruments and also selfproduced his album a very nice way. His influences range from Pat Metheny, Richie Kotzen, Greg Howe, Patrick Rondat, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Dan Huff till Marty Friedman and Jason Becker. His album is covering styles such as rock, metal, funk, jazzrock and fusion. Sometimes Stephane is shredding, but most of the time his songs are very melodic with interesting themes and a lot of emotion.
