Reviewer Davey Peckett writes, "Guitars Gone Wild! is an all originals set from a cracking little band called The Plungers from the surf-side of Austin, Texas. Wonderful lively start with a "Driving Guitar"/"Walk Don't Run" intro on the sparkling "Beachnik" before a Duane "Lonely One" sound on an equally riveting "Lone Shark". "Ridin' Tall" is a full, fat guitar sound and all round western tribute (drummer's snare is excellent too). The production all throughout the album is clean as a whistle and yet still rocking with some delicious playing from all concerned. The material is melodic but played with drive and vigour and the Ventures' influence isn't very far away. Now that's what we like to hear! Great sounds."
