World/Jazz
The Gilbert Isbin Group blends colours and sounds of different cultures with jazz and pop into refreshing, groovy and dynamic songs with strong melodies on Water With A Smile. The Gilbert Isbin Group: four musicians that have been playing together for many years to come to that personal sound which translates perfectly their musical feelings. Bandleader Gilbert Isbin, who wrote the music for all the songs on the CD and plays the acoustic guitar, has gained a strong reputation as a free style performer - acclaimed in Los Angeles, Bruges, London and in Budapest. Lea Van Loo developed her natural talent in different jazz, blues and funk bands. With her warm voice, a gifted talent for improvisation and perfect timing every song sounds as if it is a personal address to every individual listener. Percussionist Peter Vangheluwe plays a dozen different instruments on this album such as the tabla, djembe, framedrums, tampura, and many more, covering certain songs with a shroud of secrecy. Bass player Vincent De Laat pushes the rhythm, as confident in his supporting role as in his soloing.
(Acoustic/World/Jazz), total running time, 37:20 - Gilbert Isbin Group @ iTunes!
