The members of Dogpound first got together when attending The Nordic School of Rock Music in Munkfors, Sweden. This was in 1999. In November the same year, guitarist Mikael Dahlqvist presented some songs for his fellow musicians, and suggested they should start a band together. And guess what... they did! Dogpound started recording their debut album, The Hellbum, in July 2003. The album title is a combination of the hell the band went through during the recording sessions and the word album. Hence, The Hellbum. Dogpound's debut was released on November 11th, 2003. Press reviews were all very positive, with many proclaiming the band as a fresh voice in the melodic hard rock genre.
