Technical Difficulties was Paul Gilbert and Racer X's triumphant reunion CD, giving them a chance to play some unapologetic Heavy Metal in the trendy 90's. The band drew inspiration from the era of early Van Halen, Rush, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne(with Randy Rhoads), AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Pat Travers, Loudness, Accept, and Saxon, without messing it up with any alternative/grunge/rap influences. Gilbert explains, "We had a great time reuniting, both as great friends, and as musicians. The early Racer X records were miracles of speedy production, so it was nice to be able to take some more time in the studio on this one. We recorded and mixed it the record in five weeks, which is still quick. But not compared to 10 days like 'Street Lethal'!" The CD features the instrumentals "Phallic Tractor", "B.R.O." and the title track.
Heavy Metal, total running time, 50:14
