Art Greenhaw writes, "It was a very good year, the year 2007, when we recorded, layered, mixed, mastered and edited the tracks which became Gospel People Love Revue's Sounds Of Texas, Nashville, Florida And Pacific CD. And what a happy time it was for us to re-unite most of the principal artists from our 2002 Grammy Award-winning tribute album to the great James Blackwood. Back in their starring roles for our new production are The Jordanaires (James called them the greatest-ever backing vocal band), Larry Ford (James called him "the finest tenor in gospel music - period!") and The Light Crust Doughboys (James chose them to be his collaborators in fresh and innovative "gospel western swing"). Added to our recording team since the Grammy win of 2002, and Grammy Award Nominees in the Gospel field for recent adventures on Greenhaw Records, are Larry "T-Byrd" Gordon (I call him a genius of soul gospel) and Nokie Edwards (I call him the greatest-ever instrumental combo lead guitarist). There's something on this album for all fans of classic Gospel music, particularly fans of southern and country gospel music. There's even a sprinkling of classical and surf to keep things a bit cutting edge. And last-but-not-least, there's James Blackwood himself on this album, the southern gospel singer of the century, in spirit and in song, for it was James who brought many of us together."
(Electric/Easy Listening), total running time, 51:33 - Gospel People Love Revue @ iTunes!
In your opinion, which guitarist has a similar style or sound as Nokie Edwards?
