Hey, some instrumental Kotzen - well, a little anyway. In contrast to his other recent solo releases, on Slow Richie Kotzen included a number of brief instrumental interludes ("Ohio", "The Answer", "Sapphire" and a real jazzy number "Conflicted" inspired by working with Stanley Clarke) that really show his improvisational gifts have not diminished. The other tracks on Slow focus on Kotzen's abilities as guitarist and songwriter - only this time, this is true solo recording, as Kotzen wrote, played and recorded everything himself (he did let Tom Baker do the mastering). It's easily probably one of the most guitaristic of the Kotzen vocal CDs ("Wave Of Emotion", "Break It All Down", "What Is...", etc.) On Slow, you'll find the honest rock and roll with blues and hard rock influences that Kotzen has been perfecting for the past couple of years. Kotzen himself believes this album is the most cohesive representation of his abilities as a recording artist, and his favorite tracks are "Come Back", "Scared Of You", and "Let's Say Goodbye".
