Acoustic guitarist, keyboard player, songwriter and vocalist Doug Scarborough, based in Colorado, offers up a thirteen track rock/pop release entitled Mood Du Jour. The songs are personal (many written in the first person), yet universal in their sentiments. Scarborough laces his tunes with deft acoustic guitar work, piano and organ, but also interjects the sound of the electric guitar, courtesty of Luke "Fuzz" Johnson (on four tracks) and monster guitarist Shawn Lane (who guests on three cuts). Mood Du Jour has that 'Rocky Mountain sensibility' typical of many of the releases put out by Hapi Skratch Records, whose releases are always marked by superb musicianship and fine songwriting.
