At the age of seven and inspired by a Kiss poster, Richie Kotzen took up playing guitar. At age 17, Kotzen released his first self-titled record on Shrapnel Records which graced the cover of several publications including Guitar World magazine. Wih Mr. Big, the album "Get Over It" sold more than 175,000 copies in its first two weeks in Japan and was followed by a successful Asian wide tour. The follow up to this Mr. Big release was titled "Actual Size" which featured Richie's song "Shine" which debuted at number 1 on Japanese radio charts! Following the Mr. Big farewell Tour of Japan, Richie became again a solo artist and started his relationship in Europe with Frontiers Records who picked him up for a multi-album deal. He released "Change" in 2003, the successful follow-up "Get Up" and finally the brand new Into The Black.
