The riff just came to me one day (Ward 19, Cell 2112) so I took off my straightjacket and recorded it.

This is the very first song Len Jarrell and I wrote, and still one of our favorites. It just felt right putting it up front on the album. "When you`re wrapped up in a cage/Fists are full of rage/Your soul has been Gunned Down".

We just went for total brutality on this one. Matt Thompson`s drum part just ripped. Our message here is the sad state of American radio, and the severe lack of exposure for heavy music in this country, and there`s plenty of great stuff out there worldwide if you just look for it. Let`s bring this stuff back. Don`t just accept FM garbage--seek and ye shall find. "Concussion/Crack the skull of Fate/Don`t wait around/For the world to deviate."

Len Jarrell came up with most of this group of monster riffs that trudge toward you like the robot you are.

This is a new incarnation of a previous tune that we "SURGEONIZED". This "Multi-Headed Creature of Doom" rears his ugly head every now and then.

The story of my alter-ego. "The mystery of Mr. E has finally been disclosed."

Our favorite groove and tune about brain theft.

If you figure out the meaning of this song, please write us. But seriously, this is about tapping into your inner universe (without the use of harsh chemicals). "Within neurotic enclosure/Spiralling time resides/As I reach the pinnacle of consciousness/I meet The Ghost Inside."

Kurt Cobain`s suicide "triggered" Len Jarrell`s lyrical message of not taking the easy way out. The opening riff was Len`s, and I completed the arrangement.

Len Jarrell came up with this opening riff as well as the verse, and I added the bridge, chorus and mosh part in the middle. The "anti-tyrannical" and "don`t f**k with us" message is directed at Saddam Hussein.

Everyone has their Jekyll and Hyde ("Black and White") extremes: "Into the Black Of Your Mind/With just a fraction of time/You think your wickedness reigns/The white releases the pain." Musically, Len Jarrell and I collaborated on the chorus, and I wrote the other parts. I`ve had the opening riff kicking around for a while, and it worked great on this track. "Black" made a perfect final statement with the ending jam.
