On their first CD, Da 63 Projekt, Alkemy delivers a unique blend of rock and fusion. Formed during the summer of 2000 and based in Bordeaux, France, their songs mix the energy, the forms and the rhythms of rock music with the harmony, the soloing and the precision of jazz. Their influences range from Dream Theater and Queensryche on the progressive metal end to the Chick Corea Elektric Band, Miles Davis and Pat Metheny on the fusion end. Guitarist/composer Aurelien Budynek spearheads the group, who have played many outdoor festivals and famous venues in France. Notably, their first demo, "Stockholm Syndrome" quickly sold out and the group won the Blanquefort Battle of the Bands (Jury's Prize) in May of 2001. Da 63 Projekt features three instrumental works, "Turtle Soup", "Leaving Future (Part 1)" and "Inner Pulse". Progressive/Fusion, total running time, 63:25 - Alkemy @ iTunes!
