Cracks Of The Concrete, the vocal project featuring ex-Racer X guitarist Bruce Powda Bouillet, is a down-and-dirty set of thoughts and atmosphere. The Bottom Dwellerz dp not shy away from the nitty-gritty of life, too often pushed passed our concerns. IThe album reminds us that there are unfortunate souls that we try and ignore, and pulls deep at aspects of our lives. Musically, the lyrics are well thought and masterfully put together! There are lines on this album that fit together so perfectly and elicit such images that pictures are created out of smoke and words. But as the vocalist, YDante 'Young Luck' Orpilla, says, the guitar is really the frontman of the group. While it is more rap than rock here, there is no denying that whenever the guitars do come out, they come out strong. The solos are moving, soulful, dynamic, and technical. There should be no overlooking these players, and I'm sure you will agree. With all of the guests that this record brings in, and the way the songs are set up, this is much more like an informal get-together of friends than anything. But trust me, this is a fantastic collection of music and worth taking a chance on. Note: the CD carries a Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics sticker.
