Review of "Guitarisma"

letter practically worship this label and call them easily the "Magna Carta of Finland" with Prog-Rock and Metal releases as well as instrumental and guitar oriented material; some grand stuff they have released over the years.

A couple updates ago, I reviewed Torben's newest effort, "Heavy Persuasion" and had to see where this guy started it all off at. Technically, this CD is a reissue from 1998 and this version has a bonus track, "Zantac" (the drug?) that was done in 2001 (unreleased). Torben is one of them guitarists that fit into the Top 200 best guitarists that were never heard. I say this easily due to the media crap and no one taking the time out to listen to real guitar music or instrumental in general or they just don't understand it. Give up the damn radio and open your horizons!

Torben's leads and rhythms remind me of 2 people; David Uhrich and Jake E. Lee without all the flash and speed. This release is very good despite "Heavy Persuasion" has my vote for better album but you can he where this guy is coming from and how he has progressed over 3 years with both releases. Ths guy is definately in my Top 10 of new guitarists of the millenium that shouldn't go by unnoticed and I'll be damned to let people like this go by on my website, they deserve way more respect than what they are credited for.
